All you need is love... really?

As most of you know, I've never had a boyfriend, or a shift or whatever. Which, of course, leads me to hate February 14th. The only reason I do like it, is that it's four days to my birthday on Feb 14th (mine being the 18th). But anyway, everyone asks me, how can you have gone 17 years without a shift or a guy or whatever? Here is why.

I'm all for love, I'm cool with it like. I think that most lovey dovey stuff is adorable (I hate the word cute, it is putrid) but I just don't have the state of mind for that crap. It sounds weird, I know. But it's true.

I do whatever the hell I want and not give two shits what people think of me. Which is obvious to every single person that has any recollection of who I am. I'm an obsessive weirdo who doesn't brush her hair and talks gibberish most of the time. I don't drink or smoke or whatever. I've a committed relationship with my laptop (Jasper) and to twitter. I'm vain, I'm fond of myself. And for some reason, I feel the need to push guys away. It's happened to the two people who've ever shown interest in me; although, I was right to as one is a dickhead and I'm not too fond of the other either but that's off the point.

I don't know why I do it. Is it because I like myself too much and subconsciously feel that I can do better (I hope this isn't the case)? Am I subconsciously scared of getting hurt or just the fear of a first shift in general? Am I just avoiding it to not get the slags from the girls (it's banter I promise you)? I'll tell you something. I don't fucking know.

This seems to have turned into a pity post, but I know that if people were me they would slightly feel the same. How are you supposed to celebrate a day of being in love with someone when the only person you're in love with is in a famous boyband? Hahahahaha (HI NATTY ILY).

Returning to why I do not have the state of mine for a boyfriend, maybe because I've been living for myself for 17 years, I don't want to suddenly make room for some guy to take over it. That sounds very submissive (lol fanfic refrence) and "men rule the world"-ish but I am too myself for a guy to be there too.

Morals of the story are:

1. I'm a creep.
2. I don't know why I've never met anyone. Don't keep asking me.
3. I will most likely end up forever alone.
4. I like boys in boybands and that's it. For the moment.
5. I hate Valentine's day.

:) xoxo

some people have jesus, i have taylor alison swift

I've just heard the best news in the world ever. Literally. My hero and musical inspiration, Taylor Swift, is playing in Dublin on March 27th. Let me give you a little taster of my introduction and growing relationship with her and her music.

It all began in February of 2009. I was sitting on my computer and I receieve a text from Christine, asking me to download her some songs by some chick called Taylor Swift. I hadn't heard of her and my only dabble into country music was the odd Carrie Underwood tune. So being a curious cat and fufilling Christine's wishes, I go onto youtube and search 'Taylor Swift - Our Song'. I sat there watching the music video in absolute awe. Needless to say I was VERY impressed. I then looked up Love Story and Teardrops on my Guitar and loved them too. I was soon hooked on just those three songs so I downloaded the whole of the Fearless album. That had me hooked also. I listened to it all day everyday, it was (and still is) one of my favourite albums ever. I was inspired by her, I began writing (very bad) songs and tried (and failed at the time) playing guitar. I bought the Fearless Deluxe Edition in February, it never gets old, and it was definitely worth the extremely expensive €20 that I paid. I bought her debut for the epic price of £6 on holiday this year and still smile when I hear the opening bars of Tim McGraw. And now, just one week ago today I was introduced to Speak Now, thanks to the AMAZING Saoirse, and once again have fallen in love with her music. She continues to inspire me to follow my dreams of one day being in her position one day.

I'll be forever grateful to Taylor for everything above and more.
Stay classy

left. left. left right left.

I'm pretty sure if you're reading this, you follow me on twitter. And if you do follow me on twitter or have read my last blog you would be aware that I kinda adore The Wanted. Luckily for me, I had the pleasure of meeting my five favourite boys on Friday (22nd Oct). I have two words to describe my whole experience.

HOLY.

SHIT.

So the day before involved waiting in line for two hours with Jodie and her mates who, other than Shannon and LD, were total strangers to me. Add in a lot of 'oh my God I'm so warm', some sore feet and an epic conversation with Jodie while everyone went to Easons and you've got the hours of 4.30 - 6.30 on Thursday. But anyway, after all of that, we were united with our yellow wristbands, i.e. the ticket to see my future husband (Nathan Sykes).

The next day involved getting up at 6am (yes really) to finish making a fanbook that I had been working on the whole week before, getting ready and then going to school where I annoyed my friends all day by talking about it. T'was quite fun. After school, I had my usual lunch of three sausage rolls (DELISH) then going to the bus to find.... I left the fucking book in school. So being the ninja I am, I ran back to school, retrieved the book from the locker room and ran to Kat's to go to town to meet all the girls. Once we got in I ran to HMV so I could buy The Wanted's album for them to sign when I met them. Needless to say I had a freakout in the store, with Kat running away out of embarassment. Trololololol. We met up with the girls, went for a potter about and soon enough it was quarter past three and it was time for me to beckon alone to Dundrum. I arrived at Dundrum at four, alone, as Jodie and co weren't gonna be there until 4.30. I made some friends in the line, Amy and Sarah were two of them, dunno the other girls' names but they were epic. They signed my fanbook and we had a nice aul scream on our way in. I met Jodie and LD in HMV, departing from my new friends to join them in our TW meeting.

All of a sudden, a chorus of screams sounded and out came the people we were most excited to see: Siva, Tom, Jay, Max, Nathan and Jayne (their manager) pottering behind them, filming everything on the ever-present flip cam. They were all looking super hot, especially Nath in his leather jacket *loses train of thought* They posed for pics with all of us in the background and then they beckoned to the table to let the signing begin. It's fair to say we were fairly near the front of the queue, we were definitely in the first 150. The large swarm of fans in front of us went first (h'obviously) and we anxiously waited behind them. Then it was our turn.

I felt sick with excitement, I'm smiling just thinking about it. Siva was first at the table, who I ended up having a bit of a chat with while he signed my copy of the cd, which went something like this.

Siva: Hey!
Me: Welcome home!
Siva: Thank you!
Me: *hands over fanbook* This is for you lot!
Siva: Aww thanks! *signs cd* What's your name?
Me: Sarah!
Siva: Ah thanks for coming Sarah *hugs*
Me: *beaming like a fool* Oooh, anytime, anytime

Siva Kaneswaren hugged me, fuck yeah. I was a tad in shock, so I don't even remember if I talked to Tom, but I remember while I was talking to Jay he was singing and he was so much hotter in person. He signed my cd too. Next up was Jay, who I also had a chat with.

Jay: Hiya!
Me: *grins* Ohhh my best friend wants me to tell you that she loves you and she's sorry she can't be here to see you!
Jay: Awww tell her I forgive her and that I love her too!

Cue more grinning. Good times for Roisin who was basically crying when I told her on the phone. I didn't speal to Max, cause I heard someone scream my name and I go, to myself outloud 'Someone's calling me and I dunno who, that's creepy' while I was standing infront of him. Fucking face-palm moment right there, felt like such a tit, oh God. Last was Nathan who was so fucking hotter in person and inside was having an anurism or something. I couldn't talk to him I was in that much awe of him. Like a fucking tool. He handed me my cd and I squeaked a thank you. 'Nice one' he replied and then I fucking lost it, not in front of him but still. I ran out of HMV, with Jodie following me, screaming 'I JUST MET THE FUCKING WANTED. FUCK YEAH' repetitivly and very loud.

And that is my TW experience. In relation to the album, it is BEAUTIFUL. I am so proud of them, they've done so well and their success is going to multiply in the millions in the next few months.

They're coming back in December. That's nearly a month away. It's gonna be a goooooooood weekend, I'll be stalking. I WILL GET A KISS AND A PICTURE WITH NATHAN IF IT KILLS ME. I am deluded but the picture will happen. It's gonna fly by but it feels like forever until then! But anyway, yeah. 22nd/10/10 = best day of my life.

Ciao for now, Flo x

how do i get down from this all time high?

So I've been meaning to do this for a while now and I've finally been encouraged to do this as they're running a competiton *cough* but anyway here I am. :)

The Wanted.
You've probably heard of them. You have? Good! Thanks to my good little sisters Ally and Vanese (they're not actually my sisters fyi, though I wish they were cause I luuuurve them) I have become a little more than in love with these boys. And here are my 10 reasons why. On the 10/10/10... teehee.

1. THE MUSIC

I first heard All Time Low in June. It was literally the last 30 seconds of the music video on 4Music. I was like hmmmmm, it's good enough yeah, but wasn't in a rush to stick it on my itunes. Then fast-forward to the next month. 17th July actually. I was watching 4Music and couldn't find the remote to change the channel and All Time Low comes on. It hit me like a bus when I heard the whole song and I was like HELLOOOOOOOO. I loved. Then it came on at Wezz (disco) and was like 'I LOVE THIS'. And boom, the obsession began.

Then came along Heart Vacancy. I heard it for the first time just over a month ago and was impressed. I ripped the audio from youtube to subsitute until it came out (NEXT SUNDAY OCTOBER 17TH JSYK) and somehow, as the obsession grew, it made it's way to the top of my iTunes most played with 350 plays and counting....

Their self titled album is out on the 22nd in little Ireland and from the 30second previews on iTunes, it is unbelievable. They're gonna go far with this album.

2. SIVA KANESWARAN

He's Irish, he's old-school (architecture and culture loving ;D) and have you seen his cheekbones? Did I mention he's Irish?

3.TOM PARKER

He's got the most epic accent EVER, he plays guitar (very well at that), he always has his top off.... sorry lost my train of thought there.

4.JAY MCGUINNESS

He loves Paramore and Avatar (which makes him a legend anyway), his Siva-mocking Irish accent makes me laugh so much and he's as G as you can get ;)

5. MAX GEORGE

He's the hottest fella with a shaved head you can find, his Glasgow accent is unreal ("We're in flippin' GLASGEEEEEH") and he can rap (see the Kickstarts video).

6. NATHAN SYKES

He's an absolute babe, he does the sweetest fly impression ever (see below), I get goosebumps whenever he sings his bit in Kickstarts (nom) and did I mention he's less than a year older than me? (Nathan if you read this, I'm single!)

7. THE FLIPS

No words can describe how much I adore their weekly youtube videos. I can watch all of them all the time and never get bored of them. <3
Here's an example, my personal favourite one, when they're leaving Germany.

8. THEIR INTERACTION WITH THE FANS

Whether it's through twitter, youtube, signings or just meeting their fans on their travels, they always have time for the TWFanmily. They always make sure that they're happy with everything and that's one of the things I love about them. They love us and we love them back and it shows.
Btw boys if you ever read this I'm waiting for my tweet ;)

9. They've written a few of the songs on the album which is totally unusal for a boyband and it has gained them some brownie points from my 'boyband-hating' friends. I'm a tad of an outsider as my close circle of friends don't like them all that much. I love those boys too much to care.

10. They're all insanely hot, I mean HELLOOOO look at them?

And there you have it. My 10 reasons for loving The Wanted. Hope you enjoy :)

goodbye summer

It's August 27th. My first day back at school was today, meaning summer's over. But to me, summer ended when Big Brother 11 ended on Tuesday. Yeah, so Ultimate Big Brother's on and I'm loving that but it's just not the same! I've been dying without seeing Sammy Pepper, John James, Dave and co on my screens every night. I even miss Corin and the Mole! But not Caoimhe, Rachael and Nathan, they should dissapear. What I would give to see John and Josie cuddling in bed, Sam causing some mischief or Andrew banging into a door for another three months! I've loved most housemates this year but it's fair to say three stood out for me.

Sam Pepper. Love him or hate him, he's an amazing housemate. I hated him when he first came in. As a dedicated Josie fan, I was pissed off at his constant digs at my girl. But once he apologized and they started getting along, as much as I tried to keep hating him, I couldn't resit his charm. He is so funny and sweet, he seems like such a nice guy, someone I'd love to be friends with. Or go out with, cause he isn't the worst looking ;) I can't believe he was only there for three weeks, he deserved to be in there from the start! I guarentee he'll be on our screens for a long long time.

John James Parton, it's fair to say, I am obsessed with. Not in a creepy stalkery 'attach-his-face-to-my-pillow' way. In a 'holy-moses-you-are-an-amazing-human-being' way. He wasn't one to beat around the bush, he got straight to the point. He didn't care, or should I say 'didn't give a rip', about how people perceved him on the outside, he wasn't afraid to be brash and voice his opinion. He fell in love with a woman who brought out the caring, lovely side of him that a lot of people fell for, including a certain winner and a certain person writing this post. He's a bit of a looker too, feast your eyes ladies.

*le sigh*

Josie Diane Shirley Gibson is one hell of a woman. I don't even know what to write! She's so hilarious, she comes out with the most brilliant stuff I've ever heard; some of which I'll probably be using for the rest of my life. She was my winner the whole series long and definitely my favourite housemate of all time. All I can really say is that she's a godess and I adore her.

11 Things I Learned From Big Brother 11

1. Live feed makes everything better. Highlight show editing is shoddy.
2. There was a woman who got her face ripped off by a chimpanzee and if you think about her, it makes you feel happier.
3. Brizzle is the shizzle. Forever and always.
4. Watermelons can be used as a sex substitute.
5. Once a mole, always a mole.
6. It's possible to fall in love with a hunky Australian.
7. There's a lot of glory in the glory.
8. You know someone loves you when they change into their football kit once a new guy turns up.
9. Marcus Bently likes jaffa cakes.
10. Your opinion of a person can change in a split second.
11. Someone actually wrote a song about a combine harvester.

I've begun to ask myself, now that Big Brother's over, what will we do without our housemates? Thankfully for us, now that Josie's walked from the UBB (and re-united with John), we'll be seeing interviews with her. Most of the housemates have twitter, which I'll leave at the bottom (Josie's is currently being sorted out as I type by her management). Then what? I'm hoping for a reality tv show of some sort with our beloved Triple J. And as for Sammy Pepper, he'll be around, trust me.

So thank you BB11, to twitter, to John, Josie, Sammy, Dave, Andrew and co. for an amazing summer. It was buzzin and I sure was lovin' it.
